God Hates Fag Wars
P O S T E D B Y F E L I X
The House of Representatives approved a today defining the Iraq War as between a man and a woman.
Congressmen speaking in favor of the resolution argued that it would help preserve the sanctity of killing people.
I’m glad they got this off their chests before the fall elections.

Many, in fact nearly all of them are still working through their issues. Ron Paul is the only Republican who takes constitutional conservatism seriously. He's an accomplished fellow and has tried to make having a thought or two respectable. For his trouble, he's dismissed as a gadfly. I think of him as the one honest man in that troubled tribe. But look! Two Republicans joined him. They could be off giving each other noogies and mentoring people who seek .
I'm concerend about the Democrats who groveled across the aisle in a display of me-tooism. They may get to wax a wingnut's car on Friday afternoon, but on Saturday they'll be the warm up meat, again, when the boys get ready to go out and teach the city sissies a lesson. It happens every time! Yet for some reason, there are always enough of them to guarantee a solid majority. It's very sad, like watching slightly brain damaged pledges line up for the frat boys, who haze them viciously again and again. I would feel sorry for them, but they try to pass the abuse down the line, like the scapegoat at work who goes home to beat his family.
That appalls a nice Democrat like Nancy Pelosi, who tries to see both sides of every issue, but why does she turn up the music and pull the shades when the screaming starts? I guess graduates of high level entry position mentoring have delicate sensibilities.

Tightly clustered as most Congressmen are around a political center, I suppose it doesn't take much for them to amble across the aisle. And we’ve had nominal “Democrats†from swing districts in Southern, Western, and Midwestern states ever since I can remember.
Why do these “non-binding†resolutions—understood by all to be election year ploys—get people so worked up? It’s a puzzle to me. Can’t dissenting Democrats simply abstain from voting? They can then draft their own resolution that they publish in the New York Times. They can also invite Republicans to join them in signing the published resolution, so that at campaign time Democrats can accuse Republicans of having refused to support the blah-blah resolution “in support of our troops.â€
It’s a great irony that the Congress and the American public can support what is essentially publicly-funded electioneering while refusing to support publicly-funded elections.
